Floating Speed Zone Widget
AndroidWhen you move Speedless Driving into the background while you drive, Android users get a floating widget on the phone screen that shows the current speed zone. It stays there whenever the app is in the background.
The App For Accidental Speeders
Speedless Driving works out the speed zone of the road you're on, checks it against your vehicle's actual speed (Dashboard Speed NOT GPS Speed), and tells you out loud the moment you go over. It speaks up again the moment you enter a new zone.
How It Works
Back To TopThere is nothing to look up and nothing to set. The app does the checking while you drive.
The app automatically determines the speed zone of the road you're driving on.
The Speed Zone is checked against your vehicle's actual speed, continuously, as you drive.
A voice alert speaks the moment you exceed the zone, and again the moment you enter a new one.
Try The Alert
Back To TopThis is an interactive demonstration of what occurs on the app home screen as you are driving. Drag your speed past the limit, then pick a different zone, or enter a school zone, to see the new-zone alerts and hear them.
Tap on a sign above to hear the alert.
Move the slider like an accelerator pedal.
When you go over, the app says “You’re speeding.” In a new speed zone it says “Speed limit 50.” In a school zone it says “School zone, 40.” As you approach a camera it says “Speed camera ahead” or “Red light camera ahead.” Make sure your device's sound is on to hear them in this demo.

Features
Back To TopMost speeding is a missed sign or a limit that changed without you noticing. Speedless Driving covers both.
The app determines the speed zone of the road you're driving on, so there is no limit to look up or enter.
The zone's limit is compared with your vehicle's actual speed as you drive. It's based on your vehicle's actual speed, not a GPS-calculated speed.
The moment your vehicle exceeds the current speed zone, a voice alert says “You’re speeding.”
When you enter a school zone, a voice announces “School zone, 40.”
As you approach a speed camera or a red-light camera, a voice says “Speed camera ahead” or “Red light camera ahead.”
The moment you enter a new speed zone, a voice announces “Speed limit 50,” with the new limit in place of 50, so a limit that drops mid-journey doesn't catch you out.
More Protection
Back To TopYour speed zone stays on screen while you use another app, and if your vehicle is stolen you can follow it live.
When you move Speedless Driving into the background while you drive, Android users get a floating widget on the phone screen that shows the current speed zone. It stays there whenever the app is in the background.
If you realise your vehicle has been stolen, you can switch on live tracking from your phone.
Tracking only starts when Theft Mode is activated. If more than one person has the vehicle registered on their app, everyone registered to it is alerted.
Connect Your Vehicle
Back To TopFor the app to receive your vehicle's actual speed continually, and to give you Theft Mode live tracking, it connects to your vehicle in one of two ways.
Without A Speed Limiter
Purchase a small device that plugs directly into your vehicle's OBD2 port.
With A Speed Limiter
The optional speed limiter has GPS tracking built in and reads your vehicle's speed directly from the vehicle.
New speed zone, school zone and camera alerts come from the app itself and don't need a connection to the OBD2 device.
Optional Speed Limiter
Back To TopA voice alert tells you when you're over. With a compatible speed limiter installed in your vehicle, Speedless Driving can make sure you never get there. Think of it as reverse cruise control.
Cruise Control
Speed Limiter
Brake, coast or pull over and the limiter is still there. There is nothing to reactivate, so there is no gap in your protection.
The limiter does not drive the car. It does not push the accelerator or take over the pedals, it simply stops the vehicle going faster than the zone allows.
As you move from one speed zone into the next, the ceiling moves with you, including school zones. There is no limit to set and nothing to adjust.
Missed signs and limits that changed without you noticing no longer matter, because the vehicle cannot exceed the current speed zone.
Theft Mode With A Speed Limiter
With the limiter installed and active, a thief is held to the speed zone of the road they are on, so there is no getting away at speed. You can tighten that further in two ways.
Option 1
If your vehicle is stolen, switch on Theft Mode speed from the app. It sets the maximum speed the vehicle can travel at to a pre-defined speed of your choosing, whatever the speed zone of the road.
Option 2
By default, the limiter speed can be held at 0 whenever the vehicle is driven without the Speedless Driving app within short range of the limiter. No app nearby, no driving.
Theft Mode speed works alongside live tracking: slow the vehicle down, and follow where it goes on the secure tracking page. Requires a compatible speed limiter installed in your vehicle.

FAQ
Back To TopThe app speaks up at these moments: when you go over the limit (“You’re speeding.”), when you enter a new speed zone (“Speed limit 50.”), when you enter a school zone (“School zone, 40.”), and as you approach a speed camera or a red-light camera (“Speed camera ahead.” or “Red light camera ahead.”).
No. The app automatically determines the speed zone of the road you're driving on and compares it with your vehicle's actual speed.
When you move the app into the background while driving, Android users see a floating widget on the phone screen showing the current speed zone, for as long as the app is in the background.
If you realise your vehicle has been stolen, you send a command by SMS to the device to activate live tracking. You then receive an email or SMS with a link to a secure web page. The page refreshes every 15 seconds, so you can monitor the vehicle's location in real time. Tracking only starts when Theft Mode is activated. If more than one person has the vehicle registered on their app, everyone registered to it is alerted.
No. The speed limiter is optional. If you don't fit one, you purchase a small device that plugs into your vehicle's OBD2 port, so the app can continually receive your vehicle's speed and you can use Theft Mode live tracking. A compatible speed limiter installed in your vehicle has GPS tracking built in, reads the vehicle speed directly, and also stops the vehicle exceeding the current speed zone. It stays active when you brake and never takes over the accelerator, so you keep full control of your speed.
Either from a small OBD2 device plugged into your vehicle's OBD2 port, or directly from an installed speed limiter. Either way the app receives your vehicle's actual speed, not a GPS-calculated speed.
No. Speedless Driving is a driver aid. Posted signs and road conditions always come first, and you remain responsible for how you drive.
